Killing The Work is the latest single from London afrobeat-pop quartet Boy Mandeville. This reminded me that I almost wrote a review for Paul Simon's new single The Afterlife last week, suggesting that it felt like a long lost jewel from the Graceland album, the sound hadn't really evolved. I say this only to give a frame of reference.
Boy Mandeville sound a generation apart from Graceland as much as Madness sounded a generation apart from Prince Buster and like Madness they have infused their genre with a London vibe which has taken it to another plane. Listen to Killing The Work, hear evolution.
